Not a business plan. Not a fitness brand. Just one person who was tired of wanting to do things and having nobody to do them with.
Event #1 launched.
The community has grown every week since.
The idea for Active Collective came in early 2025.
I had moved to Dublin a few years earlier and found myself wanting to do more things at the weekends.
The problem wasn't finding activities.
"The problem was finding people to do them with."
Friends were busy. Plans didn't line up. And while I could have gone alone, the reality was that I often didn't.
It wasn't laziness. It was that showing up somewhere new, not knowing anyone, wondering if you'll fit in — that friction is real. And it stops a lot of people from trying things they genuinely want to try.
The idea sat in my head for almost a year.
Eventually I decided to give it a go.
Event #1 launched on 7th January 2026 — the day it all began. Since then the community has grown to over 1,025 members and 5K followers across Dublin and beyond.
The mission has never changed: help people try new things without having to do it alone.
Most people are dying to try new things. We build a space where that curiosity is celebrated, not judged.
Showing up is often the hardest part. We respect every single person who walks through that door.
Nobody should have to do it alone. That's not just a tagline — it's the whole reason this exists.
A comfortable environment to be uncomfortable in. Every event is a chance to grow a little.
Life is too short not to enjoy it. We take what we do seriously, but never ourselves.
Whether you know nobody or come with a friend — every event is designed so you never feel like the odd one out.
